please, please, don't leave me

" Yeah right, you won't ever ever ever do something stupid like flunk a class, just because. "
" Seriously, fatty, I would. Just to prove you wrong. "
" Really freak? Okay, bring it on."

The next week, Anne held proudly a piece of paper that had a 'F' written in a red marker on the top of her Chemistry paper.

" There you go, fats, I failed my Chem. "
" Shoot, Anne, I was just fooling around ! "
" Obviously I wasn't, Tim. You owe me lunch. What about after school today, at The Waffles? "
" Yeah yeah. Whatever. Meet you outside. "

Anne and Tim had been best friends since they started second year in high school. They met through volleyball club, since they both were trying out for the school team at the same time. You can say their friendship story is exactly what you see on the screens, they meet and they absolutely despise each other, but as time goes by, they realize how much in common they have with each other.

Early this term, they had about five out of ten classes together, which means they had more time together. They were happy, of course. Teachers, not so. You see, Anne and Tim always had things up their sleeve.
Because Anne was a good student, the teacher hardly picked on her. Tim got the most bickering for playing around and in the end, his results weren't so great either.

" Hey Leena, guess what? I flunked my Chem. "
" Ha ha, sure. Miss-I-have-to-get-straight-A's-or-it's-the-end-of-the-world failed her test? "
" I'm serious, " Anne said as she held up her Chem paper, proudly exposing the red mark.
" Your mum would slaughter you, why did you fail the test ? "

Leena and Anne had been best friends since, well, no one can even remember when. Long enough to know everything about each other's life. EVERYTHING.

Leena, Anne and Tim hang out a lot when Anne started being friends with Tim. They had so much fun together. The three of them are the exact kind of friends that you see on Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montana. Still, somehow, Anne had always been the middle one. She was close to Leena as well as Tim, but they, Tim and Leena didn't share little details that make them smile or make them laugh or make them cry. It was as if Anne was the one who held all secrets that Tim and Leena didn't want anyone else to know. It was hard for Anne, but she learn how to be patient and how to be a good friend.

But now, it's all history. The times they spent together, well okay, they still had time together, but it was different.

Yeah, so, a month ago they had the best times together.

Now, Anne just feels like an onlooker, the person that just sits in conversations just because she doesn't have anywhere else to go. Truth is, her two best friends, they decided that they want to know everything about each other.

And that leaves Anne, where?

Her endless conversations with her best friends doesn't seem to be going on anymore. Every time she strikes conversation, half way through, Leena and Tim would have inside jokes to laugh about or something so secretive to tell each other that they couldn't possibly tell Anne.

Anne was lost. She didn't know if she should feel happy, because her two friends, and they just never seemed to have much in common now, seems to have everything in the world to talk about. Anne wanted to feel angry, because it felt like her two best friends had just stole one another from her, and leaving her hanging. Still, she felt sad, because she just didn't know what else to feel.

She didn't want to be angry, because anger was wrong. She didn't want to be sad, because it'll ruin her. She didn't want to be happy, because it just cuts her deep.

So she's confused.

Every night, she prays with all her heart, that one day, she'll get her friends back. She hopes when she does, no one would get hurt, because she wanted everyone to be happy.
