Beauty in walking away

Running seemed to be the only way. So she ran, with all her strength and as fast as her feet would take her. First, she goes down a slope, on a straight path then she climbs millions of stairs. She pushes hard on the door in front of her and fresh air burst into her face. She saw a magnificent view, her favourite view. She sat down and only then did she allow the tears to stream down her face. Why? Why does this keep happening to her? It feels like love hates her. It first comes to her then runs away. This time, she thought she had it. She thought that love finally wants to make friends with her. An athlete, 6 feet tall, tan and handsome. He had a big heart, and he was what she had wished for all her life. He left her before, long ago when they hardly knew each other. But he came back again, saying he couldn't be without her. He needed her and loves her a lot. Now, she's there again. On the same road. She knew what to expect - sleepless nights, bad days and endless tears. Why to her and always to her? How come others could get on an easy path when it comes to love? Unlucky in love, they say.
Brushing away the tears, she got up and let the wind hit her face. It felt amazing up there. She didn't want to leave. A few months back, she had brought her lover up there and he held her close. He whispered into her ear, telling her that he didn't want to leave her again. Those soft words that he whispered sent chills down her back. Her skin tingled touching his. Tears started to come down again. She realized that she won't be able to feel like that again. She won't feel his touch, she won't feel his soft lips on her cheek. Most of all, she won't feel his love. He's gone. Forever, just like that. Like a strong wind blowing away a single leaf. He said he won't be back again. He didn't want her anymore. More tears. She longed to hear his voice now, knowing she won't.
Again, she started going back through the times they spent together. It felt like it was all wasted now. The thousands and thousands of hours they visited places, watch movies, had meals, sometimes just staring at each other. It all led to this. She looked at the sky. She was in awe at God's creation. Beautiful and so calming. She thought that God was actually there saying it'll all go well. Everything goes according to his plans. Everything happens for a reason. Maybe she won't have love now, she'll get it later. Maybe she doesn't have company, God will be there. He too, provided her with family and friends on where she can lean on. They'll definitely help her pull through. She smiled for the first time since. Aloud, she thanked God for giving her life and everything else.
