Life is like a new pair of shoes.
And if you're pretty, then your shoes are a gorgeous pair.

You take them out after you bought them, nice and clean, pretty and all. And then you put them on and everything feels so right.
But as you continue walking, running and trudging along, you find that your brand new shoes changes it's colour. Mud has stuck to its sides and there's dirt all over the once used to be brilliant white shoes.
You get upset, of course you do. Then you realized that rather than sulking over the dirty pair of shoes, you can clean them up, take a damp cloth and remove the dirt.
In no time, everything looks almost like when you first put it on, spotless and brilliant. It's not exactly the same colour, but you know that those stains can't be taken away. You have to live with it.
In other words, my brand new shoes got dirty today.
